Highlights and Novelties
1- A probabilistic algorithm to evaluate the influence of distributed generation on the hosted power system is developed.

2- The siting and sizing of distributed generation are generated by Markov chain with the probability distribution function following the optimality principle of the distribution system considering the load profile.

3- The uncertainty of renewable distributed generation is generated according to the typical distribution function for solar and wind power sources, etc.

4- The proposed algorithm is tested in a 15-MVA, 22-kV, 48-bus distribution system in Thai Nguyen, Vietnam.

Manuscript Abstract
Although many benefits can be carried out, distributed generation can also cause side-effects to the hosted power system. This paper presents a probabilistic algorithm to evaluate the influence of distributed generation on the distribution systems. The siting and sizing of distributed generation are realized by Markov chain with the predetermined distribution function following the optimality of the system planning and operation. Comprehended Newton-Raphson method is proposed to compute the economic and technical performance of the hosted system repeatedly in different scenarios. Each scenario is characterized by the relevant uncertainties which is generated also by Markov chain. The result is obtained as a weighted average of all the sampling outcomes. The proposed algorithm is examined in a case study with a practical urban distribution system in Vietnam. The simulation result shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm where the influence of distributed generation on the hosted system can be displayed quantitatively.
